Throwing a Halloween Party on a Student Budget

How to Throw an Awesome Halloween Party on a Student Budget For many students, Halloween is the perfect time of year to get dressed up in a costume, throw a party and celebrate. Especially when you have deadlines looming, and have been pretty busy with University life since freshers. If you want to throw an amazing Halloween party, but are on a tight budget, do not fear! We have put together our top recommendations for throwing an awesome Halloween party, no matter how much money you have to spend. 1. Invites Invite all your friends via a Whatsapp group, or simply create a Facebook event – just make sure to make it private so you don’t have the whole of your University turning up! 2. Decorations   Hit the pound shop for cheap decorations. Or create DIY decorations using inspiration on Pinterest. A few of our favourites include: A wall of bats: all you need is black card, scissors and blue tack   Spider webs made of string  (source) Lastly, create an eerie ambience by turning your main lights off and instead using lots of candles and fairy lights. 3. Food If you’re throwing a party, then party food is a must. But on a student budget, this doesn’t mean you have to go all out, simple party food will do. However, Pinterest is a great resource for finding ways to make normal food look creepy, like the following ideas: Severed fingers (hot dogs and ketchup in buns)  (source) Or, for something slightly less horrifying, ghost chocolate covered strawberries  (source) 4. Music and costumes: Cheap costumes can be made up from an all-black outfit, accompanied by simple Halloween accessories or elaborate make up: think vampire, cat, witch, skeleton, devil! For music, simply choose from one of Spotify hundreds of Halloween playlists. Hopefully our list has given you some inspiration for throwing your own Halloween party, whatever your budget may be!
